How long does a cut-over take?

2-3 weeks from deposit to launch, assuming your existing content is accessible.

Will I lose my content?

No. The content is migrated (pages, blog posts, photos). What does NOT migrate is the platform-locked template markup — that gets rebuilt hand-coded.

Do I own the code after the cut-over?

Yes. You own the source code on day one. It lives in your GitHub or as a zip, on your domain, in your own account.

Can I move back to a platform if I want to?

Yes, but you wouldn't want to — that's the whole point. The hand-coded site is yours, fully portable, no platform lock-in.

Service businesses, restaurants, portfolios, blogs — anything that doesn't sell online. A cut-over drops your monthly site fees to $0 (you only pay the one-time build + domain renewal). Squarespace, Wix, GoDaddy, WordPress.com all fall in this bucket.

E-commerce sites

Stores that actually sell products need a payment backend. The cut-over removes the site-builder subscription (the part that charges you monthly for hosting + the editor), but you keep a payment processor — Stripe, Shopify Headless, Medusa — at zero markup. Lower monthly bill, same checkout.
